i dont think it has to be a PCR, an antigen test will do, Malaga Airport has a test facility, the antigen test with certificate is 24 euros.

Hi

I gather from a report in the Olive press Newspaper recently , at times the Test Center at Malaga Airport is fully booked and Passengers are being refused  boarding of Aircraft due lack of this test. thereof.

I suggest taking a private test just to be on the safe side.

Good Luck

 Hi Rebecca

We are flying back from Malaga today and had our lateral Flo tests carried out by Dams Health. €39 each and fit to fly certificate emailed within twelve hours.

Cliff

Malaga airport antigen test cheapest and easy but you must book beforehand. They are getting very busy won’t make any allowances if they are full that day. Your test results are checked before checking in luggage or at the gate if you haven’t checked in luggage.
dint forget to order your 2&8 test as you need the reference number for your Gov locator form -again you cannot get on the plane without this

You dont need a PCR test, you can get an Antigen/lateral flow test at Malaga airport for £22, I did it two weeks ago with no problems , this is a link you get a result in about 15 minutes,  https://www.malagacar.com/blog/news/covid-test-centre-malaga-airport/

Don't know St Pedro but you don't need a PCR ..... antigen flow test is OK and a lot cheaper,

Read this carefully!

Type of test

You must make sure that the test provider you choose can meet the standards for pre-departure testing.

The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml.

This could include tests such as:

  • a nucleic acid test, including a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test or derivative technologies, including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests
  • an antigen test, such as a test from a lateral flow device

It’s your responsibility to ensure the test meets the minimum standards for sensitivity, specificity and viral load details. You must check with your test provider that it meets those standards.

You may not be able to travel if the test does not meet these standards. It’s your responsibility to ensure you get the right test that meets the above requirements.

Information that the test result must include

Your test result must be in either English, French or Spanish. Translations will not be accepted.

You must provide the original test result notification. It must include the following information:

  • your name, which should match the name on your travel documents
  • your date of birth or age
  • the result of the test
  • the date the test sample was collected or received by the test provider
  • the name of the test provider and their contact details
  • confirmation of the device used for the test, or that the test was a PCR test

If the test result does not include this information you may not be able to board, and may not be able to travel to England. If you arrive without a test result that includes this information, you might have to pay a £500 fine.

Positive test results

If your test result is positive, you must not travel. You must follow local rules and guidance for positive coronavirus cases.

If the result is inconclusive, you must take another test.

British nationals who need consular assistance should contact the nearest consulate, embassy or high commission.

Testing and quarantine after you arrive in England

You also need to take COVID-19 tests after you arrive in England. Find out about:

Test to Release scheme - shortening your quarantine period

If you need to quarantine because you have been in or through a country on the amber list, you may be able to end quarantine early through the Test to Release scheme.

You cannot use the Test to Release scheme if you have been in or through a country or territory on the red list in the 10 days before you arrive in England.
