What is best way to get English tv Freeview? Do not have internet. Is it cheaper to get that rather than uk tv? T

No internet, no TV.
Avatel do fibre broadband and some UK TV channels, you need to check if it is enough channels for you. I know people use this and say it's good.
I use Olivenet fibre broadband, no UK TV. I say it's good.

Some ISPs let you suspend your payments, normally for complete calendar months only, for x months in a year. You need to check.
Sounds like you need a pay as you use deal. I am sure there may be such a contract but I don't know of one.
If you have any close friendly neighbours they may let you share their broadband if you offer to pay 50% when you are there.

We took up with Avatel on the basis of the access to UK channels but they have changed to a digital box now similar to a UK Virgin box and you don't get the UK tv on it now.
there are plenty of companies on Facebook that will sell you a Fire stick with an IPTV app which has every speaking channel you will ever need for TV, movies and sport which you plug in to your tv and can remove and take back to the UK

I Don't see where it states you still get UK channels, in our experience we took them up with the idea we were getting BBC and ITV etc which we done and when called them they said they only supply the digi box now and there is no UK channels on it.
I know people that have the normal internet connection and do get the channels.
