"We were hoping to have a couple of weeks in the sun with no masks it now seems this will not be the case"

You will be fine in 'open spaces', the rules are below, now talk will remain this way until Spring, the Government also worried about winter spread of flu, all seems wise to me, 'most people on the sea front are not wearing them'. Remember it's mainly about protecting of other people, however, if...

... you want a no mask Zone, 'it's not Spain' Covid cases now a fraction of UK you should be pleased much safer here than UK.

Rules...

26-06-2021 Wearing a facemasks is 'NOT mandatory outdoors in Spain', only when 1.5m social distance can not be guaranteed. 'People must carry a mask at all times in case it is required'; in anticipation of outdoor crowds or when going indoors such as shops, offices, and public transport. Facemasks are still obligatory for large outdoor events such as concerts, demonstrations, and sporting events. Andalucía still recommends the wearing of masks outdoors but it in not an obligation.

Thankyou for this maybe I will change my mind a bit of a gamble whether Spain will put a block on travel from U K?.

Really need a break love to be down there with you all?.

Benn.

The official line for each of Spains’s 17 regional authorities is…no masks outdoors unless social distancing is impossible but mask up ‘indoors’ - which includes retail units, public buildings, public transport etc.

In my town, 95% of the population still wear masks outdoors. Presumably because they remain sublimated by politicians’ shock/horror campaigns. Or they prefer to ignore virus science ...

...

The latter may account for why so many unmasked persons inside bars and restaurants will sneeze and cough and splutter into the air without covering their noses and mouths

Oh lovely!  Remind me not to frequent bars etc then

You are over worrying people in bars drinking and eating in restaurants masks off, much of life pretty normal, people are just careful social distancing and wearing masks in enclosed places & stores. Most wear the mask on their arm at the ready.

Keep an eye on the local news for any updates.   .  https://www.surinenglish.com/

 The a touch of 'exceptionalism'
