Him does anyone know if you leave Spain, and miss your appointment for the processing of fingerprints or the issuance of the TIE, do you have to start over? Can you get another appointment? Asking for a friend.

I don’t think I would chance it. Once your fingerprints are taken you get a piece of paper to say you are a legal resident. Not sure if you’re able to get back into the country without that. I’m told that there’s an approximate two months waiting time between fingerprints and collection of T.I.E. Hope this helps 😀

Once you have made the appointment with Police National you can cancel it (as long as its not the same day) and start over, that is not a problem.  Appointments can be a little challenging to get some days though.  Yes it takes 50 days at this time to get your TIE after your appointment.

Also i would not be surprised if the Green residency card is replaced formally by the TIE which would put a sudden rush on appointments again.

I think the bigger issue though is leaving the Country and expecting to be able to get back in without a Green Residency card or the TIE.  I also would not risk that unless it was an emergency to leave.
