If you back out on a whim you will not get a refund. I am travelling at age 74, no worries if you are sensible. Wearing a mask is very sensible. As a seasoned traveller I am used to difficulties arising. Relax and enjoy your journey always.

It's been interesting reading the responses to my thoughts. I assume all the people who think I am talking rubbish are senior citizens. This Covid scare is a generational thing, which is really about being afraid of a nasty death when all is said & done.

To answer a couple of personal points. I do wear a mask in enclosed or crowded spaces. Apart from that I do not. Wearing a mask affects my breathing (suffication is such fun), plus I have an eye condition where I need to wear glasses. I find wearing a mask impossible to do that, plus the nasty headaches it causes me. I have a note from the Doctor to show to the Police if needs be.

My father was a soldier during WW2, I had an uncle who must have been all of 20 years old doing bombing raids over Germany, plus relatives who died in concentration camps, so I chose my words carefully about freedom being a fragile plant, Unfortunately some people of a certain age seem to think it's OK to give them up. By the way I'm almost 70, but not just thinking of my own circumstances. It was interesting that the attitude of the older generation during lockdown (or house arrest)  was it's OK. but when you're retired, maybe on a good pension then it's I'm alright jack!

However some of the younger generation think they are invincible & putting themselves in danger, also some think us older folk should all be dead anyway. Unfortunately some younger people have also fallen foul of this cruel disease.

However I still think there is no excuse for imposing laws that do nothing to stop the spread of Covid.

I never dreamed that I would live in an age when having a haircut could be illegal, or democratic countries have curfews. Might not concern you as it's for our own "protection"., but it scares the hell out of me!!

A sizeable minority are ignoring the no mask rule, including by personal observation some Police here in Spain

Then there is a political angle. Obviously people are aware of the UK's hysterical blanket 2 week quarantine if you have been to certain countries. France is threatening "retaliation" with the average person a pawn in this game of political ego's.

Then in the UK there are the regulations about theater & live performance. They forgot to add it's only safe to attend if you are wearing green underwear. I made the last bit up, but if you take a look at the rules it may as well be there.

I have made the decision not use public transport, & I don't plan to fly anywhere or put myself at more risk than I have to. Unfortunately the way world has gone in the last few years laws have been passed to keep us safe.Life is not entirely without risk.

I think the sad fact is the second wave of the pandemic has arrived despite the various laws, & people will die, including maybe me. I think all that some of these laws are doing is dragging out the inevitable, & making parts of life a misery when there is no need.

A poll was done in the UK about tougher measures such as local lockdown with most people in agreement, but further analysis showed that people were all for regulations that didn't affect them.

I have come to the sad conclusion that a lot of people of my generation are selfish. I still am a hippy at heart, peace & love.

I await he tirade of abuse I'm sure I'll get with interest. All I would say is think of others, not just your own vested interests

Give me a break from your insufferable, interminable and condescending rants. You just don’t want to accept any other opinion but your own. I respect yours but you do not respect mine. zzzzzzzz GOODBYE.

That's because I'm right & you are wrong. If you don't like my opinion don't read it, but I refuse to be a sheep. Goodbye. Please don't waste my time or yours by replying to this. Sorry to sound nasty.
