Hi Everyone,

Heres the deal, we are a couple, 40's, who are looking at the possibility of relocating and downsizing from UK to a park home in Costa Del Sol.

However, as were not retirement age yet, we would both need to find full time employment. This, to us, is the daunting bit ! We've looked at many beautiful parks, and their park homes, which we'd move to tomorrow given the chance, however we couldnt do it without finding and settling into full time employment.

I'm aware the cost of living is better and weekly wage could be less than say the minimum wage here in the Uk, that wouldnt be the problem, its finding full time that is.

Could someone reading this who is/was in the same position, maybe post some advice or even the names of any jobsites for the areas, that we can look at first.

We'd appreciate any help or advice given thanks.

Regards

Chris.

Sorry to sound negative but the advice has always been that if you need to work to live in Spain, don't do it.

You will be shocked at the low wages, if you manage to get  offered a job and the hours will be long ...plus Summer work is harder than you imagine in the heat. Even Spanish people find it hard to secure work and those who speak Spanish or are dual linguistic will get the jobs over and above the non- Spanish speaking job seekers.

You are much better staying in the UK until retirement or until you can afford to live in Spain without working.

Many people think of the better lifestyle and weather of living in Spain but if you are working long hours without the time to enjoy much leisure time then it's not so enjoyable.

No thats fine Jan, thanks for your advice, hence why we are just sounding out at the moment, we wouldnt do anything rash without doing check upon check first.

l just wanted to see what was out there and what could be feasable.

my partner is a nursery manager and i do grounds maintenance during daytime and entertainment of an evening, karaoke/disco/compare.

Therefore that would've been our first port of call, maybe english nurseries/schools & entertainment prospects.

Is 40€ per day unrealistic ?

Thanks again for your reply, i'll take all kinds of advice on board and have plenty of options open before we make a decision.

kind regards

Chris
