I am 86 years old and recently moved to Spain. In USA and Malta I have donated my body to the University! - to avoid my widow any funeral costs! On the only site I could find here they wanted 1000 euros just to collect the remains! What is the cheapest remains disposal available here? - In the USA you can have a cremation for under $250.00.
What a good idea! Whilst I can't answer you definitively by any means would it not be the university or whoever you donate to that would essentially be responsible for the collection of the remains? Or do they only become theirs, so to speak, upon delivery? Great idea though and something I will explore myself!

In Malta and the USA the collection is FREE.. You pay nothing! They use the body for students and then cremate the remains and send you the ashes! Once a year they hold a remembrance service for those who wish to attend.
The quote I got here in Spain stated that I would have to pay 1000 euros for the collection.
