Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get Covid vaccinations in a private clinic? I am in the age group for Astrazeneca and I want Phizer or Moderna, so I have to do it privately if possible.

Hi

It is not possible to get the vaccine in a Private Clinic. All Vaccinations are done by the Government in the Local Health Clinics on behalf of the Private Medical Health insurance Companies. You have to register at your Local Health center with a special form, link below, together with a copy of your Insurance certificate, copy of your Padron & your Passport. See link below for more information. you can not ask for a particular vaccine, what is available will be given to you at the time.

I used the special government form, but they wanted to ignore it.  They do have me listed but as no TIE yet might be tricky.

Thank you for your helpful reply Nigel, on 14.4.  Regarding my Danish friend who reports Atrazeneca is now banned in Denmark, hence she cannot travel to see her grandchildren and does not have private health insurance.

And AstraZeneca is her only option offered here in Spain.

Many people in her age group...the next age cohort to be invited by the government, are expressing concerns about the possible side effects.  As yet there are still no evidence based published papers regarding the possible iatrogenic effects of the vaccine,  so it's important to wait for such, rather than relying on social media for information, which has varied in its content.

Yes it's possible that patients with pre existing venous and arterial thrombosis could be adversely affected. Much of which is usually undiagnosed ,  but let's wait for the evidence based published papers to appear in the public domain.

Thank you again for your help Nigel.

Un Saludo/ Regards
