Hi Mike. I read your post with interest. I realise you put it up a year or 2 ago.  My name is Jamie and my aim is to teach Spanish to the expats. I am English (but currently live in Wales).. Although not a qualified teacher I have been studying for years and believe I can help the beginners to get by.  With the use of Skpe or Zoom it is now easy to do overseas. I plan to visit Costa Del Sol for a "research trip" in spring to see the feesability, and the areas where it is likely to get the most benefit. (This is all subject to travel restrictions which I hope will be lifted by then)

Do you think there would be an interest, and would you, or anyone you know, be keen?

Any tips you can give on how to go about this would be appreciated. I am happy to do video calls (free of charge) to build up a rapport with people to see if they enjoy it. I have my own method and have published a book on  Amazon aimed at Spanish for Complete beginners.

I am happy to discuss this with anyone who may benefit.

Best Regards to you all, in these unprecedented times , and stay safe.

Personally I think there is a need.  We do not have a 3 euro class option around where I live AND the classes that I have taken have left me shaken !!  They go so fast and its quite impossible to follow along after the 3rd class.  Learning Spanish is a very big deal indeed and it will take a long slow time.  I have taken private lessons but those were hopeless. I have also done the DuoLingo etc.  I do believe the people who are offering private lessons are actually still quite busy but how true that is I cannot know for sure.

From my perspective the challenge is trying to make it affordable enough that one can do sessions once or preferably twice per week.  Perhaps with Zoom (or whatnot) you could have several people on all at the same pace.  That is really the key I think, that people are all at the same learning level and age group.  If you have some young Europeans who speak other languages they will catch on alot quicker than a retiree who has only spoken English their entire life.  This is what I have experienced anyway.

I am interested in hearing about your method.  Thanks for the intro.  Kerri

Hi Kerri, just read your post and agree wholeheartedly with you re trying to learn Spanish. I have tried a few methods, but my memory is not the best so retaining what I have learnt is a big problem for me. My hubby is doing a lot better, but still struggles. You are not alone and it is so frustrating.

Good Morning,

It's never is too late to do something, the best is yet to come. Most of my students are beginners and we start from scratch.

You can try a 30 minute free trial lesson without the obligation to continue and decide later whether to continue or not.

Kind Regards.
