Hi

All down to personal feelings I guess but we use Sabadell and have been more than happy with them. If you need a contact let me know. As for money transfers from the UK we use John Lewis International Payments https://www.johnlewisfinance.com/money-transfer/international-payments.html ...they have been excellent.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I always use Transferwise. They are web based, very low costs, secure, easy to use and fast. I have a business in La Cala and make multiple transfers in various currencies. Much cheaper than any bank. I bank with Santander and Cajamar. Both are good but I use Cajamar in La Cala more frequently due to friendly and efficient service.

Hi we are just back in the UK from getting the keys to our new home in Spain I would recommend Banco Sabadell they have a non-resident account you can open.  I would advise not to use a bank for your large money transfer's you will get far better rates of exchange from the currency exchange companies.  I did look at John Lewis International Payments lovely people but their rates weren't as favourable as I was offered from Torfx so I used them for my house purchase transfer of funds.  My account manager is Matthew Hall lovely guy really helpful and gave great advise.  I managed to secure a rate for my final transaction at the time I put through my initial deposit which ended up saving me about £8k due to the falling exchange rates that was for EUR/GBP.  You can sign up on-line and get an online account in which you can set up your payee's (lawyer etc. and your new Spanish Bank Account) you can see instantly what exchange rate is being offered but for anything above £25k you have to contact them to check rates and to initiate that transaction for you. Rates are always better for higher value transfers. Very slick operation.  There are others that I am sure are as equally as good but thought I would share my positive experience with them.  Hope it helps.  Best wishes for your new home in the Sun. Yvonne

Hi,

I have used FC Exchange, found them to be very reliable and with very good rates. They will also better, (if only slightly), any other rate you get offered. For this reason it is best to shop around with the other currency exchange companies, looking for best rates.

Don't use bank transfers, as you get charged at both ends, i.e UK bank and Spanish bank. Also, the actual exchange rate is never as good as the one you can get from best currency exchange companies.

Hi we recently moved to Torrox & have used sabadell.  I cannot tell you how brilliant they are, providing a dedicated contact who speaks your language. We used a solicitor @ CD Solitors who are based in central Torrox above Aldi. Francisco was thorough,  professional & speaks good English.  Their charges are very competitive. I will send you details of transferring currency& who we used later when my husband returns. Good luck

Sabadell bank for definite. App on your phone if required, total control. Perfect for non permanent residents as well. Ask your solicitor to help you apply if necessary. Use  comparison site for money transfers at moneysavingexpert.com or others you get nothing for loyalty now I used RationalFX but for ease of use I now use for smaller amounts CurrenciesDirect.com
