Has anyone used ferry Portsmouth to le Havre to get down to Spain with a dog. Can anyone suggest best route in October this year and where to stay going down . I'll be travelling from Scotland. Looked at le Havre route and dog cabins look good. Portsmouth to Santander not looking so good.

If possible try to get the Santander route, it's so much easier. Also quite expensive traveling through France with the number of tolls you need to pay. We got a pet friendly cabin and it was excellent.

They also have Kennels on board which are fine for the short journey. Good luck 🤞

Hi
Just be aware when we traveled to Spain we had pre booked a dog cabin 8 weeks prior to our Saturday sailing late Thursday night I received a text from the ferry company that our sailing had been cancelled due to bad weather in Spain too rough for ferry to sail back to uk the option I was given was refund or another ferry in 6 days but with no dog cabin I would not put my dog in the kennels you are not allowed to go to the kennels once set sail we had to leave our house on the Friday as it was sold I then used Euro Tunnel when we got tired we just stopped and found a hotel the dog and Parrot loved the car journey I’m glad we traveled that way
