My wife and myself just moved to Manilva as a retirement place . We are Belgium citizen and have lived in South Florida (USA) for the last 35 years. Being new in the area we are looking to have as many information as possible on the activities, sports, shopping, meeting, etc..

Hi Bernard &  Monique

Welcome to Spain &   Manilva.  I hope you will be happy over here in Europe. Getting Residence & changing your Drivers Licence is a daunting task in Spain. It is wise to seek the advice of an expert such as an Gestor ie Rios Espinosa (Gabby Cranium) in Sabinillas or a Solicitor ,if you prefer. Here are a few websites to peruse & hopefully gain some information from them.

Good Luck

In Manilva you are close to many places.  Estepona (I call it the town of flowers) is just a short drive away or perhaps from the Paseo you can even walk nearly the whole way now (I have heard but not tried it myself).  Of course before Covid there were many festivals there.

I friend of mine went to the Wine Tour which they loved -  You can find some information here - Wine Tasting in Manilva (vivamanilva.com)

There used to be a huge Rastro market on Sundays but since Covid that has not run but there is a small Friday market on the Paseo in Sabinellas and a Sunday one in the Bullring in Estepona port, Sotogrande on a Sunday with all new stuff, trendy and relaxed area to have a coffee and enjoy the marina and slower life.  Plus San Pedro is always a hive of activity (market on Thursday).  Try the Hustle n Flow restaurant there, its healthy and reasonable price, great value.

If you like to stay fit with hiking you can look up Casares Walks on Facebook and find plenty of hills and valleys to hike around in.

These are some things top of mind.  Welcome to the area,  Kerri
