Hi everyone, I am travelling to Malaga area from Kent in April with my small well behaved dog no set dates,I don’t want to fly as I don’t want to put him in the hold. Was wondering if any one is travelling overland and would like company,I will share all fuel costs, ferries, and tolls ect.I also have to travel back in July,so I am looking for the same deal Malaga to kent. Thankful for any advice.
Hi, I saw your post regarding overland from the Malaga area to Kent in July. Every year I travel overland from my home to Kent in the last few days in July to spend 1-2 months seeing the family and friends. I usually do the trip from my home in Puerto de La Duquesa to Dieppe in two days staying around Bayonne the first night, and Dieppe the second night to catch the 12.30 pm ferry to Newhaven around 1st Aug. If this could be useful to you please let me know. I will say, I'm a little uncertain of your little dog as it's a long drive. Is your dog a good traveller ?

Hello Robert, thank you for answering my post.the timeline sounds fantastic,I can understand your concern regarding Mutlu,my dog. He actually loves travelling, and has never been ill whilst doing so although this will be his longest journey to date.He would need to go for a walk each morning and then a short toilet break every four to five hours.A lot of ferries insist dogs go into there kennel area, where there is a small area for walks ect. My plans at this time are slightly uncertain as I have a very poorly friend who is in and out of hospital and I wouldn’t be able to travel until things are more stable (best laid plans of mice and men).i already have my outward journey covered and time will tell.It would be nice to stay in touch regarding the journey. I live in Tonbridge. Thanks again.Michelle.
Hi , (sorry, I don't know your name ) Tonbridge is fine as I have rented a cottage near Yalding which is just around the corner from you. I usually periodically stop for coffee or something to eat every 4-5 hours so that fits in quite well too. The Dieppe/Newhaven ferry takes 4 hours. I don't know, at this moment, what the arrangements are for dogs, but there must be some I'm sure. The ferry is DFDS.
The car is quite large, (BMW 525 tds) so there should be enough room even though I'm taking my golf clubs !
Sorry to hear about your friend, perhaps you'd let me know if you would like to make the trip. I think it would be advisable to meet to discuss details etc. if the timing is right. Robert

Hello Robert,I am sorry my name is Michelle.its a small world I know Yalding pretty well.Hope you have managed to escape the floods.I agree it would be a good idea to meet up for a chat.Let me know what days you are free there are some nice dog friendly cafes locally. I am quite flexible with days and times. Michelle.

Hi Michelle, as I am retired now, pretty much any day and time would be OK with me, although Tuesdays and Saturdays are no good as I am on the golf course. As I said previously, I live in Puerto de La Duquesa which is in between Estepona and Sotogrande if you don't know it.
I don't mind coming to you (wherever you are ). It would be best if I can park close by. Obviously, you know your area, so I'll leave it to you to decide where and when.
The cottage that I rent is up the hill from Yalding in West Farleigh. It's very nice and quiet and on a horse farm, so the flooding doesn't reach up there. However, I'm thi king of buying a park home on Little Venice which is right on the river..........and it does flood !!
I'll wait to hear from you. Robert

Hi Robert,I live right by the river here in Tonbridge and we do have problems with flooding, thankfully I’ve only been here two years so I missed the really terrible flooding. I am a five minute walk into town which is great. Perhaps we could meet next week, but could I get back to you at the weekend when I know what my schedule will be bearing in mind your golf days. Bye for now. Michelle.
Hi Michelle, nice to hear from you. I see that you are in the UK at the moment and are coming over to the Malaga area in April.
As I live in Duquesa, we will have to meet after April when you get to Spain, although I am flying back to the UK on 14th March just for a week, and it may be possible to meet then, but I must admit the calendar is pretty full for the week.
Knowing the weather in the UK, it may not be possible to play golf as I have arranged, so it may be possible to meet then ! Can you tell me whether the week starting 14th March to 21st March could be possible. Robert

Hi Robert, thanks for your email. April would be good as I am in Turkey in March, and do not know exact date of my return. Every year I spend time in a refugee camp over there. So let’s keep in touch and whatever happens it would be nice to meet you. Take care Michelle.

Hi Michelle, that seems to be a very generous thing to do in Turkey. Is it not dangerous ? What do you have to do ? Whatever you do.......take care.
April is fine to meet up. If you contact me then, we can arrange to meet in the Malaga area somewhere convenient.
I hope that you're not flooded out in Tonbridge, it's been horrendous I believe. I know you don't want to hear this........its been really glorious over here ! Robert
