Hello all! Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected? I have a question someone my have an answer to. I have been offered a flight voucher from Ryanair and although I know I have the right to a cash refund (but not yet they say) I'm not bothered taking a voucher as I'm sure you will all agree nobody wants to see airlines or any business go bust during this horrible time. What I'm trying to find out if I accept a voucher or use that voucher in the next few months and the airline goes into liquidation where do I stand? Hopefully you guys might be able to shed some light? I just don't want to put pressure on companies when I will no doubt be booking with them again.

Stay safe all!

Hi Tracy

I am in a similar position, trying to decide whether to opt for the cash (at some point in the future!!) or a voucher.

I suggest you listen to the "You and Yours" BBC consumer programme on Radio 4 today at @12.15 (or on catch up via BBC Sounds) I believe they plan to discuss this item.

I understand that if you take the vouchers and the company goes into liquidation then you will lose your money but I am waiting to hear/see more information on this as the debate is bound to grow over the coming weeks.

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike

For this trip I have opted for the voucher. Only because what I have heard is that people are fighting for the refund going through the process and still getting a voucher at the end of it. The law says we are entitled to a refund within 7 days but the airlines are saying we will deal with this when it is over! I'm praying no airlines go bust as it only pushes up the flight prices with other airlines. Good luck, stay safe!

Regards Tracy
