Hi,

Has anyone got or can anyone recommend a solar water heater solution and installer in the area, please? I'd also be interested if anyone has a dual solar system with a water heater which also has the ability to run the air con.

Thanks,

Phil

I have a solar water heater, which also has electric heating elements,  (I think is standard) Right now and winter seems to use more from the mains than solar. It's only 3 years old, fitted by previous owner property. I am finding it difficult to get serviced. As for running air conditioning from solar I think will need a few panels for this, you would think Spain would be full of experts on this, but have found it hard going. The government here stopped the growth of the industry for many years, due to the 'Sun Tax'. See link. https://www.solarinspain.com/en/article/54/farewell-to-spain%E2%80%99s-solar-tax

I read that it has been recent that the have removed the yearly Tax on solar panels and that the companies take the energy back and you are not paid for it. I think that why we do nit know abything about it.

Yes the solar tax has been withdrawn.  We have solar panels installed by mariposa energy.  Our electricity contract is with endesa and they pay us for the excess electricity we export to them

There are , thermical batteries , they work on solar power, need a lot less electricity and many more advantages to a classic boiler. I am an installer and can provide you with more info if you like

Good Morning,

I work for Mariposa Energia - you can always send me a copy of your invoice to me at [email protected] and allow me to find out if we can better the prices you are paying for electricity and if we can provide you with better payback from the grid. We also work with a partner that can offer you a solar wallet option.

Hi there

Could you please explain what a

" Thermical battery" is and the technology behind it.

I think you may be referring to a thermal storage solution for water, perhaps?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Yes that could be. In stead of constantly heating water ( classical boiler) you heat up salt witch gives off its heat when you ask hot water. This uses a lot less electricity and can be connected to solar panels. My specialty is, the combination installation, wind and solar power.
