Referring to Mr Sanchez recent post  that Spain would not be welcoming Tourists until after the summer (when hopefully 70% of the Spanish population would have received the vaccine), does anyone know if this also refers to UK citizens who have a second home in Spain?
We completed on a property at the end of August last year & still have still not been able to visit it in La Cala de Mijas. We were hoping to fly out after our 1st vaccine in May.

We too have a second property in Spain & want to visit asap. I think we'd be considered "Tourists" as we're not residents

However, believe this was a suggestion by Sanchez rather than written into law. Their Tourism minister has since said Spain want to open to Tourism as soon as safely possible.

We're waiting to see what is definitely decided by the Spanish, can't believe they'll want to close their tourist economy for the whole summer.

Thanks for your reply. We too will await tentatively to see what the next few weeks/months bring. Let’s hope we all get on top of this virus very soon!

I think everyone with a second property is in the same boat. But the statement was a suggestion only at this stage, grabbed by sub-editors everywhere to create the usual "we're all doomed" headline. For now, keep the faith until such time as there is something official (or your airline cancels yet another flight).

I don't think Spain or the Costa would be in a good place economically if they ban spring/summer tourism. Im sure due to go down for Easter but even the thoughts of getting test done before going down and then possibly curfew are a bit off putting but doesn't particuarly bother me but i can imagine it would put someone going on their 2 week summer holiday in June off

I agree with Andrew, I believe one of the PM´s ministers backtracked on the original statement not long after and painted a more optomistic (relatively!) picture.
