I'm in La Cala.

I've produced my 210 form online and printed it.

I've toured all the banks in La Cala and none of them want to help me pay it in bank branch because I don't have a bank account with them.

They tell me I can pay the non-resident tax amount via their ATM.

One banks ATM didn't have receipt roll in it and I was told that's why it wouldn't let me do the transaction, that their ATM had been without a receipt roll for some days and didn't know when one would arrive.

One banks ATM I couldn't find the bar code reader and the staff wouldn't come out and show me where it was.

One banks ATM wouldn't read the bar code, I selected to continue and manually enter the details, after I entered all the details I get the message that the details were incorrect.

One banks ATM told me I couldn't pay my non-resident tax at it.

Can anyone without a Spanish bank account that has to pay the non-resident tax tell me how I can pay it, having used the online 210 system to prodce and print my 210 form??

A great way to sidestep Spain’s third world banking system is to have an excellent and reliable agent complete the process on your behalf from the UK

In my opinion the fee is reasonable because it will remove frustration you’ve experienced

Provide ownership details and property address and the cadastral value for 2024. The tax will be calculated on your behalf; the tax return form completed and you have the choice of either paying it yourself using the completed forms you will be provided with -  or pay an additional fee and John will settle your tax direct with the Agencia Tributaria after you’ve put him in funds

I have produced the 210 forms, that was easy.

Paying the tax is what is proving difficult and I don't fancy paying 100+ euros to pay a tax I don't think I should have to pay anyway.

It's getting a Spanish bank to let me pay the tax I don't wish to pay that is difficult.

The attitude of bank staff seems to be, no account, not paying our high fees, then go away.

I used this service and it really is good , and in my opinion, reasonably priced. On the other matter, I know that the Spanish Banking system is more expensive but I do have an English speaking helpdesk and in our small pueblo there are four bank branches. In many towns in England there are no bank branches at all.

Hi Jeffers

Another option is to make the payment online yourself For this you will need to have a digital certificate.

I am also in la Cala and the foreigners department will be able to help you through the process of obtaining a certificate. I plan to get one next year.

You obviously need to be quick to get this done due to the end of December deadline for paying the tax.

Regards

Mike

Thanks for excellent suggestion and link.

I'll definitely engage the foreigners department to get a digital signature for next year.

I did leave it a little late, I didn't expect the bank staff to be so unhelpful because I didn't have an account with them.

I managed to pay it at the Cajamar Bank's ATM in La Cala today.

The whole financial system is about to change almost worldwide.

I guess it has to do with that.

I don't think you need to worry, but that is easier said than done, of course.
