Hi all

How do I check whether I have paid all my bills on my property?

Do I need to make an appointment at the town hall, or can I just call in. Anyone know?

thanks

Hi,

I don't think the town hall will be able to tell you.

Not sure what bills you mean but there are Utilities like water and electric plus if you have mains gas there may be gas bills. If you are on a community you will have community fees. Also there are Suma property fees, once a year. The Suma is similar to Council Tax in the UK but much cheaper. There are also Spanish taxes that have to be paid - We have a fiscal representative who deals with all our Spanish taxes and  we retained them for a yearly fee after we bought the house as they were our Solicitors. If you have a Fiscal rep you could ask them about setting up your property Suma if it isn't already set up.

With your utility bills and community fees it's much easier to have them on Direct Debit and access your bank online so you can see that all bills are being paid. We also get paper statements from our Spanish bank sent to our UK home so we can see when a bills have been paid.

Hope this helps. Anything else just ask.
