EU Citizen - Residencia

Hi All,
I am an EU passport holder and would really like to gain residencia in Spain. My wife only has a UK passport, but I am confident that she can gain residencia via my EU passport. We are staying in Fuengirola for 3 months from January on a short term rental. Two questions for you all if I may please! :-
1. Will I be able to get residencia with only a short term rental agreement?
2. Can anyone recommend a good solicitor or gestor in Fuengirola (my Spanish is reasonable, but English speaking would work better for us)?
