Can anyone recommend: Road Works
I would like someone to cut a channel across our road to install a fibre optics cable.
It is in a very quiet cul-de-sac in the Campo Mijas urbanization.
Thanks

On an urbanization, first of all, you will need permission from the community. Then permission from the Ayuntamiento in Mijas. No reliable fibre optic installation company would undertake the work without that. They could lose their licence.

Thanks for the advice. I will ask the urbanisation as you advised.
I have looked on the Mijas town hall web site but cannot see where I would go to get the planning permission. Do you have a contact for this?

If you are only wanting Fibre Optic installed in your house, the company who does the Internet installation will arrange all this. i.e. Vodafone, Telefonica etc. The title of your question is: "Road works" and gives the impression that it might involve digging up a public road. My advice would be to first contact one of the main fibre optic/Internet companies and ask them to come out and take a look at your property and see if it would be easy or not to do the installation work. It all depends on whether there is already fibre optic cable installed in your area or if the company would need to install a new one. They will also give you a quote. Just as a matter of interest, I have been with Vodafone since 1998 and I am very satisfied with their work. You can find their contact details on-line. Regards.

So now I am in the Spanish conundrum
Mijas Town hall have told me to go to the broadband supplier and the broadband supplier has told me to go the town hall.
all I need is a channel small channel cut across our road in a cul-de-sac. I have checked with the neighbors and they are fine about it.
I seem to be at an impasse !!!

I think you need to talk to the President of your community, not just the immediate neighbours. You would need written permission from the community anyway for the supplier. The President should be able to give you good advice about this situation but many presidents rely more on the knowledge of the Administrator so maybe approach him/her also. It may be the case that it is the President who has to go to the Town Hall to ask for permission to cut into the road. Regards.

I have some good news. Avatel have now been able to get the fibre optics into me house using the existing cable duct under the road.
they have now asked me to install a small manhole on my premises at the cable entry point .
can anyone suggest a tradesman that may do this in our area?
Regards
