Hi everyone

Myself and hubby have a holiday home in Fuengirola. We are finding less and less reasons to stay in the U.K. as we adore Spanish life and have made lots of friends.
we are not at retirement age by any means in our 40s.. so would need to set up a business or get jobs in Spain
We do have rentals in the U.K. and would have a fair amount of income from them, prob enough to live on comfortably if need be until we find work .. Would we be taxed in the U.K. and again in Spain if the money was sent into our Spanish account and also how hard would residency be as we are Welsh so not in the EU…  thanks in advance.

Hi there,  I think your best way would be to apply for a Non Lucrative Visa.  This would last for 1 year and you would not be able to work.  At the end of the year you’ll be able to apply for residency and could start a business then.  I’m sure someone with more knowledge will be able to give you more details.  Good luck.

With a non lucrative visa you have to keep renewing the visa to achieve 5 years then you will get residency. If you want to change the NLV to a work visa you will need a permanent work position.  The prospective employer will need to apply for the visa on your behalf.

Hi, my advice about getting a job or starting a business is research research research.

Don't rely on people you know around you telling you what you can do.

Its very hard for native Spaniards to make money and get jobs let alone foreigners.

It's better to be here when everything is right obviously, but it's so easy to end up being a slave to your bank account.

I've heard many times from people, when they got off the plane they might as well chucked their money into the air.

Good luck... but plan very carefully.
