Where in Fuengirola can I excess an English speaking doctor where I can get state health benefits as a pensioner without residence permit and what do I need?

Can  UK citizens get free health care?

Can Portuguese get free health care?

Hi, if you are visiting Fuengirola, you can use the GHIC card which is accepted in the local health centres. There is a centre opposite Carrefour, go through a short tunnel under the motorway and it's the first building you will see on the left. It's official title is: Centro de Salud Las Lagunas. You will need to take your passport and the card. Also possibly photocopies of both as sometimes they will do them there and sometimes, not. If you don't have the GHIC, (which stands for Global Health Insurance Card) then you must take out private insurance. As for a Doctor speaking English, some do and some don't, but there are always interpreters available at the centre during the hours of morning surgery, 8 a.m to approx. 1.30 p.m.

To answer the other parts of your question: No, in general UK citizens are no longer entitled to free health care except in the terms mentioned above.

Yes, Portuguese citizens are entitled to full Health Care as they are members of the EU. However, they will need an up-to-date EHIC. (European Health Insurance Card). Regards.
