We were away for 4 months & returned to find a huge, unsightly extension had been erected on the patio beneath our apartment.

This has totally obscured our previously, very pleasant views of the front communal gardens, which we pay to maintain.

The extension, dark brown, is out of keeping with the style of the community.

Upon inquiry with the administrators, consent was given in 2015 for permission to erect 'glass' enclosures on patios generally.

This isn't simply a glass enclosure. It's large & ugly. We're now looking down on dirty windows below.

Without question, this has devalued our property. It appears that the owners of this apartment, which they lease out, have carpeted

the 'patio' therefore creating further accommodation. It is no longer a patio as such.

The administration nor the president of the community are sympathetic. They are abiding by previous admin' agreements.

The admin', president & owner of the apartment below are all Spanish.

I wasn't contacted prior to this development. If so, I would have objected 100% to the size & style of this extension.

I've requested copies of the Planning consent from the Town Hall from the admin' company.

Any, all advice would be very, very welcome.

I would contact a lawyer.  The members of this Forum cannot provide advice to a complicated situation like yours is.

I can see how terribly frustrating this would be!

Since you asked for any/all advice.  My advice is to live and let live.  With everything going on in the world this very small potatoes...actually not even potatoes at all.  So my advice is to take a deep breath and appreciate how great it is to simply be alive.

Any/all advice requested and delivered. Do what you want with it.
