My son went to a Spanish school, was very good, he mixed with the locals and spoke fluent Spanish. Later studied in UK & US and got a first. The British Children who go to the English private schools here can grow up being a little odd in the community, think of it being the other way round, a Spanish family moving to UK and children in a Spanish school. Or perhaps a family from the Indian sub-continent seeking a school based on Hindi. The English schools here are OK to keep to the UK curriculum, but nowhere near the standard of British schools. If you want them to have a good pure British education they need to school in UK, if they stay in Spain long term, without a Spanish education they could be at a disposition here.

Many thanks for your prompt response. Much appreciated.

My son was younger 5 & spoke not a word, but when they are young they learn very fast, his Spanish has been very useful and now working in the US where 20% of the people speak it. The good thing is because of school here he is a true bilingual, so when speaks Spanish no accent, his English perfect of course from family, to really fit in they they need to be with Spanish kids and even at her age will pick up very fast. The problem being, if go to English school, they learn some Spanish but end up sounding like a foreigner! While at her age if learns now, by about 15 she will talk the lingo like her piers. Educations establishments are normally very good at accommodating foreign students and other young people help too. I do know one guy who came here at her age, parents sent him to Spanish school, in at the deep end, he later went to Malaga University, Now a very successful businessman here, 90% of customers Spanish. (Not a hint to them of an English accent.
