Please help us get away from the”magaluf strip” in fuengirola!! An area with nice bars restaurants and music suitable for a couple in their 50s . Bonus if we aren’t being hassled to go into London/Irish bars

I am not sure what you are looking,  the entire promenade 8 kilometres long, Los Boliches not so intense, try take the train into Malaga city, fabulous place, fantastic places to eat and cultural.

Benalmadena pueblo is a lovely village , with great bars/restaurants

Live music is intermittent..

Depends on the day:night..

You don’t need music as everyone so chatty and friendly here

I can't understand why you are living there....

Didn't you check the area fully before living there?

I think they are on holiday, I suspect staying deep in the tourist area, it's not all like that, now will be extra busy from this weekend, Spanish Schools on holiday, who make up the majority of tourists in Fuengirola. However the general area and Spain if full of nice bars restaurants, you just need to know where to go, the best places to eat will be busy with Spanish.

"Go two or three streets inland!"

Yes, that's the answer, many brilliant places to eat.
