What is going on with car hire rates this year? Last year I rented a car for 8 weeks and paid about 450 Euros. Now, for 4 weeks I'm being quoted upwards of 1500 Euros!!

Do you Spain gets a bad reputation, but I’ve hired cars through them for the past 5 years and everything has been fine. You could try them but also read the small print carefully. Good luck.

That's where I've been renting from forb10 years and this year they are more than 1500 euros! I'm just wondering if the rental companies have dumped most cars and jacked up prices.

That’s expensive! Sorry, I don’t know the answer to that. It may be that they are trying to recoup losses due to Covid? Good luck.

Have you tried malagacar.com. I've always found them to be cheaper than most and their standards of service and cars are equal to most.

Well, my experience does not match yours. I've used Centauro many times without issue. Hired a car last July for a week, Same car, same week 2021 would be approx 15% more, but I probably had a discount code in 2020 so not much difference IMO

Once you've booked with Centauro, they send regular discount offers & I usually wait to book until I have a worthwhile discount

O, if you try booking Centauro, max period is 1 month for the €1200 excess option, longer periods they offer only the expensive fully insured option.

For longer periods we book two hire periods to get the lower rate/with excess

Delpaso car hire at malaga Airport is always brilliant ther prices have also went up this year but because we are regular customers you become VIP an give you discount they still gave us a good discount year 👍 but was still more expensive than last year

They are a bit cheaper than Doyouspain, but still a lot more than I've paid the last couple of years. Guess I just need to bite the bullet!
