I have just arrived this week at my long term rental in Frigiliana.

The terrace and patio need brightening up with colour, so can anyone advise me on where is the best garden centre for pretty plants, pots and soil for it.

Thanks in advance

Hi, welcome! There are two good garden centres in Torrox. One on the cost road, just before Torrox, and one just past Lidl in Torrox. Both are really good. As you are heading into Torrox from Nerja, you will see the sign on the left hand side, by the trailer camp ,and take the next right. The other is just past Lidl as you are heading out to the major highway.

Thanks Melanie for your welcome and the information.  I will take a look.

Do either or both of these speak English?  I have some Spanish but it doesn't yet stretch to trowels and compost! 😁

Oh well, I will manage.

I have come from Selby, born in Leeds.

I am on my own now, grown up children went back to the UK yesterday.  I have a dog, so it's just the two of us now. He's getting used to a new life, as am I.

Yourself?  Are you a couple or just you?

My husband and I are fromCanada. We live in the Campo outside of Frigiliana. We have been coming to this area for 7 years.  Usually just for the winter, but this year with Covid,,,If you ever want to go for a coffee ,I am always looking for excuses to walk into the village!

Wow Canada!  Long way from here.

Yes, Covid has made life very different everywhere hasn't it!?

I am in the campo but, I suspect it's a bit further up than yourself because it would be a long walk for me for coffee!

I might take you up on that coffee sometime though, thank you.

I plan on relaxing and finding a routine here at my house, for a short while, a couple iof weeks, with my dog. Also, getting some plants and doing some early morning gardening.  I walk my dog early to avoid the heat and, I'm guessing, I'll be doing other things early too!

See you soon Melanie and, I will let you know when I get my plants, etc.

Kind regards

Debra

The big one on the coast road is very good, with a good selection of plants and containers. I think one of the lovely things about gardening is that it has a common language, not always words, that means people seem to understand anyway. The garden centre is well used by many people from all the various countries this area supports so, even if your Spanish is rudimentary, they are very used to a mixed bag of customers. Happy gardening, and welcome to the area.

Thanks very much for that.  I will find these recommendations and work out which is suitable for me.

Thanks again for your kind words and info.
