Planning to move to Estepona

Hi Nic,

welcome - I am sure you will love it in Estepona. We love it here for 12 years now - unfortunately not permanently yet - and we also bought an apartment in Casares Costa, about 10 km west of Estepona.

A good place to look after an apartment is www.idealista.com - it is also available in English. When you find a place it is important to have a good lawyer, who deals with the paper work, authorities etc. There are several posts here about that - I also posted the name and details of our lawyer, who I can recommend.

Welcome to Estepona, I'm sure you will love it! We have just spent 2 weeks there and liked it so much we're coming back to really try it out for 3 months from April.

We were in contact with Jonathan from REAS estate agents and he was very good. He found us a small new 2 bed  apartment in the centre of Estepona for 3 months which was a great achievement as we discovered most rental properties in the Costa del Sol only available for a minimum of 1 year rental! I know you want to buy something but REAS also do that. See below his contact details from a recent email of his.

We bought an apartment in the middle of Estepona in February 2020 from Aida Immobiliaria. They are on Calle Real 39 Estepona.

The person we dealt with is Javier.  He speaks perfect English and  was so helpful in the transaction from start to finish - and in fact we go and say hi to him on a regular basis ! We would thoroughly recommend him.

We will be back in Estepona on 16 March - perhaps we can meet up and tell you our experiences.
