Hello, my name is Chris, I am married to Eddy and we are hoping to move to Spain with our son David. Can you tell me if there is a need for a traditional English barbers on  the Costa del Sol please as my son wishes to open one. This will include hot shaves and all aspects of male grooming.

Hi

I'd say that there is a need as men need barbers. There are plenty already of course, some very local, others more expat(y), some pretty basic, others not so much so. It all rather depends where your son wants to place himself in the market. Replicate something like these in Estepona and he would be on to a winner...

Hi Andy, thanks for replying and my son definitely wants something like the Harrisons Barbers. So do you think Estepona would be the area for him?

Chris

I don't see why not. The whole Estepona area is the place to be seen right now. There is a lot of development going on, the area is taking off in terms of attracting investment. I've seen plenty of news articles suggesting that Estepona is the "new" Marbella etc. I'm not entirely sure that's true....perhaps a more attractive alternative to it though. If he has the finances to fund a startup then it's certainly worth further research. Gut feel says it's a good idea but he's the one in the hot seat :) Research, research, research....

Good luck!

Thanks so much Andy, I really appreciate your advice and I will certainly pass it on to him.
