I'm flying into Malaga around the 1st.  Can anyone recommend a good car hire option?  The major car hire airport options for a compact (Seat Ibiza/Opel Corsa size) are about 15 Euros per day.  Are there off brand options at better rates?  I'll be staying near Estepona.

.

Avoid GoldCar, there are hundreds of complaints about them on line . . .

We use Helle Hollis, not the cheapest but they don't try to cheat you.

Are you absolutely sure that you need a car? Where exactly are you staying?

Best wishes

Gracias Jennifer,

I’ll look at Helle Hollis.

We’re staying in Manilva. I lived in Spain in the 70’s. I’ll be showing my daughter old haunts all over Andalusia. So I think a car will be necessary.  And I’ll also need one to get me to the various golf courses in the area I’d like to try.

Not sure if you're sorted yet but if not have a look at https://autosnavarro.es/

I've used them for years. They are local, reliable, don't rip you off and hassle free.

I hope that helps.

Yes, in Manilva you will need a car as public transport is very limited.

Make sure you know where to park, as the large carpark by the Policia was shut off in the summer, I don't know if it's reopened

Best wishes
