Hi all does anyone know what the junta Andalusia tax on new properties is? We just had our bill from the solicitor and there was an extra 1.5% tax that is just under 3k, a bit of a shock as we never heard of it before, does anyone have any info on this tax? Ta john

Its the stamp duty.

For new properties there is no transfer tax but VAT at 10% and stamp duty is paid. Stamp duty is 1.5% of the property value.

Resale properties don't pay VAT or stamp duty, instead they pay a transfer tax which 8% of the property value.

To the best of my knowledge these percentages are still current.

I hope that helps.
