Hello,
My husband and I moved from the US to Spain over 2 years ago and fell in love with San Pedro Alcantara.
It's a quiet little town but very active with restaurants, Spanish and American schools, filled with children and places for them to play. Since the shutdown the end of last year, we watched many places close down but once we've opened up, people are beginning to come back, including tourists.
We have a lovely promenade on the beach loaded with restaurants and activities. The city itself is well taken care of.
Make sure you check out the area you decide to move into. Not to scare you, and it doesn't seem to effect most of the population, there are a few gangs but they tend to effect each other, not the residents and are mostly higher in the mountains or in the larger cities.
We feel safe here, living on the outskirts of downtown San Pedro and walk around the city anytime of the day or night.
I hope you find a place and please let me know if there is any way I can help you.
Toni
