The San Isidro Feria in May
.
This year the San Isidro Fair begins on the evening of 10th May - the lights are already being erected up in the Fairground!
The daytime activities include the sort of thing you might find in a County Fair in England - but with a Spanish touch!
There are various farming skills in competitions, chopping and baling and things like that. And horses doing clever things. As well as all the fun of the Fairground.
The evening concentrates on rides and stalls and dancing, of course. Get out your frilly dresses!
On 15 May there is the big San Isidro parade, with the saint on a decorated cart pulled by oxen (or mules or a tractor depending on how the oxen are feeling), with other animals - there are usually geese being shepherded along the street!
There is also Sopa Campera - a vegetable soup with poached eggs on top. People are already getting ready for that - the Hermandad de los Remedios tells me that they have ordered 47 dozen eggs for making their soup!
Best wishes
