Hi.

I'm moving to Colinas del Faro soon. Will have fibre optics but need a new UK tv supplier.

I've seen a few recommended,  Spain Jonathan and Dusty It's etc. Who has best value money and after service around area?

You just need an Amazon Fire Stick and a monthly subscription to a VPN (like Surfshark or NordVPN), which makes your location appear as if you're in the UK. Plug the Fire Stick into your TV's HDMI port , you don’t even need a Smart TV.

If you want something more advanced, you can buy a cheap Mini PC and load services like BBC iPlayer (you’ll need a UK postcode). Pair it with a Bluetooth remote keyboard and mouse for easy use. You’ll still need a VPN to route your internet through the UK.

There’s also a subscription service called FilmOn, which gives you access to UK TV and works on both Fire Stick and PC.

👉 Note: You don’t need a third-party supplier, and selling UK TV services abroad is not legal.

Good luck! See links below.

(Don't get Express blocked by some fine BBC & Chan 4)

Good Mini PC - 119 Euro right now. Look up Amazon B max  - Go Amazon ES - English or buy ready UK

Amazon Fire stick - very cheap but not as nice was with a MIni PC and Keyboard.

Film ON - https://www.filmon.com/subscriptions

Apparently BBC are changing things which might make things difficult for VPNs

See link below, yes some VPN don't work all the time unless a professional one, such as from example Amazon trade service 'AWS', which is a pro connection and charges for the actual flow, needs an expert to connect, you pay for why use use, outside of which pay Film ON who include their own VPN in the package. . FILMON TV LIVE TV MOVIES AND SOCIAL TELEVISION

The providers frequently put in blocks but I find that changing the UK area on the VPN gets round.

I found a strange quirk, I brought a Firestick from Spain to use with my non=smart Tv in the kitchen. All the apps are fine except Channel 4, it says you can't use our service in this area. (Liverpool!)  So I switched on the VPN to say it was in the UK and it still says that!

Yes, that's correct. Some UK TV services block domestic VPNs by detecting their IP addresses, even if they are set to a UK location. Different VPN brands can give different results, but domestic VPNs are cheap because you are not paying for the streamed data itself. There are also professional VPN services where users pay based on the data used. These are far less likely to be blocked, as some broadcasters themselves use them at high bandwidth to carry data across geographical boundaries.

Domestic VPNs have a total data limit, meaning that if many users connect at the same time during a popular event, the picture quality can degrade. However, for a fixed price, they offer good value.

To me knowledge, ExpressVPN currently works with Channel 4 and gives limited access to BBC iPlayer live TV, but it does not work with library streaming, ITVX, or Sky Sports. I’m not sure if there’s a published list of which VPN works with which channels.

That said, people are lucky to get some UK services at a low cost. As an alternative, you can pay for FilmOn, which I believe is quite reliable and doesn’t require a VPN, as it streams directly from their own reliable feeds.
