We have sold our holiday home ( furnished)in Duquesa and plan to drive over from the UK in our car ( via Santander) to collect personal items ....and return to the UK. Will be clothes, pictures, odd small items of furniture, kitchen bits, rug, ornaments etc etc. All purchased in Spain over the last 20 years.....any issues at customs, Spain or UK ????

As far as I know UK is still behind sorting border checks as you are shipping stuff back to UK https://www.bbc.com/news/business-60308494 However, people moving their residence from the EU to the UK can move their personal effects or household goods under transfer of residency rules and, subject to meeting certain conditions, this is normally free of customs duty and free of import VAT. 'However, the exemption does not apply when it is a second home. Customs duty (if applicable) and import VAT will be due when you import these goods to the UK'
