New in La Duquesa

Hi all

My Partner of 26 years and I recently moved to Ocean Villas in La Duquesa from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Our most often asked question is " why would you move from Australia to Spain" for which there is no easy answer. My Partner Ann originally hollers from the UK, Kent and she was transferred to start a subsidiary by a British Campany in 1988 which she did very successfully until her retirement (early) in 2005. 

I was born in Berlin and immigrated to Australia in 1964 and had a very successful career in sales and general management with a number of multi nationals.

I retired in 2010 and since that time we found that whilst OZ being a beautiful country it has 2 disadvantages , 1 it's too big nod much the same , at least around the coast and too far away from Europe where Ann and I still have relatives and we both like Europe but not the flying. So after 2 stints of 3 months and one of 2 we decided to sell up and move here and bought a villa here.

we both have wide ranging interests, have both travelled a lot, I have worked in the Far East as well and we are both yachties having had our own yachts up to 43 feet and I have 20 years ocean racing incl. 3 Sydney to Hobart races and have boated in the Pacific, Baltic and the Med.
