Hi All

Sorry to sound thick but can you drive to Gibraltar and do the food shopping and drive back. Or are there regulations to how much you can buy.

Cheers

Yes you can. But my first question would be why would you want to? OK, you can nip into Morrisons and buy a few bits and pieces but Spain has perfectly good supermarkets....however, yes you can drive to Gibraltar to go shopping :)

Hello and welcome.

Most people, including many Gibraltarians, do their weekly food shopping in one of the many Mercadona's in Spain!!  But there is of course a Morrisons in Gibraltar which stocks pretty much everything you would find in the UK, but prices tend to be higher than UK.  Eroski's just across the border also stocks a variety of Waitrose products, again at prices usually higher than UK.  If you are coming to the delightful peninsula, you need to be aware of traffic.  0800-0930 is the time that workers usually enter and queues can be 30 - 45 minutes to cross the border.  Then from 10 - 4 there are the tourists, and queues can be an hour or more to get in.  Remember that these people usually leave between 4.30 - 7:00 and so queues to get out can also be up to an hour (and sometimes longer).   Don't forget your passport!!
