We are in our apartment and cannot access Wifi - a new router was sent a few weeks ago. Movistar are not responding quickly and we cannot understand Spanish  - are there better providers ? Many thanks

Apparently it’s the connection into the apartment and not the router, which we suspected all along - they trying to sort it now

Also it seems we are stuck with Movistar as that is what the president has agreed to

The president of the apartments cannot dictate to you who provides your Internet.

They have no power to tell you who can provide your Internet...electric..etc etc etc......ask other residents who they have.....I can guarantee they have different providers of utilities.....probably getting back hander from moviestar...

On your community board there should be a number for the administrator...call them and explain what is wrong...

You will find there are different service providers....

Hope this helps.....

Ask the president to pay the Bill ….. as above cannot dictate which provider unless there getting commission try Orbit . With them after 3 minths you can have WiFi turned off while away at no charge and turned on when you back also for free.

I have checked with our Administrator this morning and apparently we can only have a choice of 4 on this urbanisation -they have named 4 for us so we are enquiring - thanks all

Paula, You can reach Movistar on WhatsApp.  Now they only speak Spanish but if you set up WhatsApp on your laptop (which syncs with your phone as you probably know) then you can use Google translate back and forth.

I have a second monitor which makes this process really easy and once I had a 1 hour call with a technician who was trying to help me fix a complicated situation with my phone.

They will quickly respond to you with this method.  I have found it far superior to trying to call them.  They will switch you immediately to technical support as well.

You have probably sorted this problem by now but for future if you stay with Movistar this is a good method for help. Good luck.

Thanks so much - seems they have now sorted the issue (think it was with the exchange) as opposed to the apartment 👍

I went to Mapit for my wifi connections. Initially got a movistar router that did not require any connection with apartment.

Now have Olivenet.

Mapit can deal with everything and check connections etc. They take a small commission after the contract, about €20. I suggest you talk to them.
