My wife and I are moving in december to Competa. Can you buy a car in spain with a dutch drivers license and can you get insurance than as well?

Buying a car in Spain is getting very expensive. My neighbour recently bought one from Germany. He had a German guy drive it over. He figured he still saved money and got a very nice car.
Just a thought.

That creates its own nightmare, you have to import, change things like the lights and change plates, people like Unsticks will help, don't forget you can only use a UK licence for 6 months unless a deal is done, or you need a Spanish driving test.

You can buy a car in Spain as long as you have got a NIE and proof of address, driving license doesn't matter. Insurance isn't a problem as long as the car is in your name or you at least have the autorizacion provisional de circulacion or justificante to prove the process is underway.
