PCR TESTING
Flying Bournemouth to malaga on Wednesday really brought the PCR impact on aviation to a head .The airport was almost deserted and the flight had only 20 passengers -one spanish passenger was denied boarding as he had no test certificate.
Why the italian model cannot be adopted whereby you elect to have the PCR test either prior /after 48 hrs of arrival in Italy
To set a requirement for a negative test taken from a sample WITHIN 72 hrs of arrival is nonsense.ie sample early Monday, post priority tracked royal mail which is collected 1900hrsand hope it takes within 24 hrs to laboratory, hope lab can turn around within 24 hrs and email test certificate .Flight departs 2010and arrives malaga 2345
Risks -void test ,positive result, failure of post delivery, lab process time ?,
Also scientists have said that 30%of negative tests maybe positive and the costs!!!!!!
Now people also have an issue of airlines cancelling flights -time to reappraise!!!!

Taxi from airport to Torre del mar  €50

Hi, I've just paid £120 from boots, but the stressful bit is the 72hrs, I fly this Friday at 16:00hrs so I've booked in at boots for this Tuesday at  17:00, I know its stretching time a little but I just wanted to make sure it came back.

I didwrite to Boots saying it would be useful to listtheirstores actually carrying out PCR testing .In bournemouth theysaid nearest was London which probably exposes you more to covid!!

I find it surprising thatthe airports websites aren't helpful -Bournemouth airport was useless!!

Again i stress that the italian model should be taken ie option to take test in prior to flight or within 48 hrs of landing

I really don’t want to be controversial here, but trying to understand why any country would let you in without proof that you are non-COVID? If this isn’t checked prior to arrival, have you any idea how many people an infected person could pass this on to?  I, for one, am pleased with the stringent rules that Spain have taken and can’t help but think that if more nations adopted this policy, together with current restrictions, that a lot of lives would be saved and we would see a quicker resolution to the end of this pandemic.

Having said that, I wish you luck and hope everything runs smoothly for you.

https://www.thelocal.it/20201204/italy-makes-coronavirus-testing-mandatory-for-all-arrivals-from-eu

This is the current Italian advice which takes affect 10 December

But you will see the quarantine requirement and presumably on arrival at Italy you would go into quarantine and would take a pcr test in Italy within 48 hrs

If the test is negative then you do not continue your quarantine

Common sense is required as the pcr test has issues ie time scales, available test centres, flaws in home testing

Recently the Uk population said that 57% would deny entry to people not vaccinated yet there has been anti lockdown protests, people not wearing masks and social distancing  and this includes politicians and advisers!!

But no prosecution or enforcement measures

Meanwhile the aviation industry and tourism is on its knees  and will see businesses go under

yes we do need Covid precautions but common sense as well
