Hello All

I am from Todmorden in West Yorkshire and am completing on a one bedroom apartment in Capistranoplaya in a months time. Its all slightly scary with Covid 19 but am hoping to come out there in September!

One thing I would like information on is approximate costs of property insurance and the equivalent of our council tax. Obviously it depends on the property and location but if anyone has something that would be roughly equivalent that would be great.

Thanks very much

John

Hi John

Yes every situation will be different but to give you some idea, I have a 3 bedroom/3 bath/3 level townhouse.  My home insurance is in the region of 300 euro annually (this coverage is complete).  My property taxes are based on the house size as well and are in the region of 600 euro annually.

Additional to this you will have some sort of community fees.  You will find these in the range of 50-100 euro per  month depending on many factors (for a one bedroom maybe even less).

Very reasonable I believe.  Hope this helps.

Hi!  We have a one-bedroom apartment in Fuengirola.   Buildings and contents insurance are a joint policy with Zurich - about 260 EUR per year.   Most apartment blocks have their own block insurance, but I thought it wise to have my own individual cover as well.   Saga also do a holiday home insurance, I believe.

Hi John

last year I went with my bank for my home insurance but this year I changed to Linea Direct equivalent to Direct Line. I have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and pay 200 Euros saying 63 Euros by not going with my bank.

My council tax works out at just over 400 Euros per year.

Good luck.

Your lawyer should confirm the urbanisation fees and council tax. Ours even set up our direct debits and sorted out our quotes for house insurance. We gave them POA and they completed for us too!,
