Been coming to Nerja since 2009,,obviously love the place and its people,,,mostly went over twice a year for two weeks at a time...Stayed at two different hotels Villa Flamenca and Nerja club....however not been over since March 2018 due to major Surgery....Still in recovery but almost there,,i'm 75 now so what with the surgery as well cant walk as far as i used to,,,might still look at the 'Flamenca' or Nerja club both ideal for myself and wife and can always use the Taxis.

Ideal for travel would be Jan.Feb or March 2021,,hopefully the 'Coronavirus' will be of less impact than currently,,would be interested in smaller Hotel or even one bed.apartments nearer the Balcon'' any recommendations?........I realise the situation with 'Masks' and early closing will depend on the current rules,,finally would like to ask you locals,,is the town still as friendly for us visitors,,lol...i'm sure it is,,i mean the general atmosphere......look forward to your helpful comments and hope to see someof you fairly soon...

Thank you Paul and Donna Scriven,,

Hi there,

Nerja, and surrounding towns, is as friendly and welcoming as ever. BUT, it's been really badly hit by the effects of the virus and is much quieter than usual. Many businesses have closed, sadly. The incidence of Covid-19 has been very much lower than the places in northern Spain, so it's quite safe to go there. There's still plenty going on, and I am sure any hotel or holiday let would be very glad of your custom. I think a winter in the sun and warm will be just the tonic you need after what sounds like a tough time.

Thankyou Pricklyone for your reply,,,just read this morning that the two Hotels we've always used have closed down for the time being,,,so it seems we would more than likely be using one new to us,,,much appreciate any further news about other hotels near the 'Balcon'

Thanks again Paul and Donna....

Hi, we stayed villa Flamenco in July/Aug this year..really convenient, clean and tidy. pool is great..They have happy hr every evening in front bar which is very relaxed, food is great too (pic is breakfast) in ..had to quarantine when we arrived home but still worth it..i recon it was about 40% of normal business.. Nerja still hard to beat being going there for 10 years..my aunt and uncle used to own restaurant El Candil on the balcon..now retired and back in England..woul like to move there for few years just to experience the way of life.. but who knows.. hope you get sorted..Dan + June ..n.ireland
