Mijas Golf - Policy on clubs and bags?

Hi,

I am organising a stag/golf break for May 2017 and have seen a nice villa next to Mijas Golf that looks ideal.

I have already booked flights and paid to take 3 sets of clubs between 6 of us on the flight, with the intention to put 2 sets of clubs in each bag. So basically we will have a set of clubs each, however we won't have a bag each.

Would this be a problem at Mijas Golf? Do they have a strict club/bag policy?

Also, there are 3 non-golfers coming too, that would actually like to have a game with us (They plan to hit the driving range before hand and have played previously).

€30 for them to hire a set of clubs for 1 round seems a bit steep for them. Would they be allowed to share clubs?

Thanks

Hi , generally provided each golfer has his/her  own golf bag it shouldn't be a problem regardless of the amount or type of the clubs in each bag. Thirty euros rental for one round is a bit steep but it depends on the brand , condition and model of clubs. We do full sets of Wilson for 20 euros for one day's rental. You can reserve one or more sets by visiting our web site www.sunshinegolfonline.com . We are based in Mijas Costa at La Cala de Mijas. Have a great time. Ken

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the reply.

Must every golfer have their own bag? As we are traveling with 2 sets to a bag. We plan to use buggies.

If bags are compulsory, do you hire bags?

We are a bonded travel agent specialising in golf holidays and have traded here on the coast for more than 20 years. It's a general rule here in all the golf clubs that all golfers have to have their own bag. I think you will find this applies wherever you play in the world. Most airlines charge significant sums to transport golf equipment so hiring sets can sometimes be more cost effective as well as saving the hassle of carrying them and avoiding potential damage. I'm sorry but we don't hire golf bags and I'm not aware of any company that does.

There is a golf hire shop at arrivals in Malaga Airport. I think you can hire just bags there.

Shop at Malaga does not hire bags on their own. I checked last week when I came thru arrivals.

Hi, I live next to Miraflores golf. The pro at the driving range hires clubs. I will ask him if he hires bags.

I think you would have to have a bag each.

Regards Peter.
