Hi, if you are on Facebook there are numerous groups which explain this to you. People are friendly and someone will answer any questions you have. Also look up CAB (citizens advice in Spain) Good luck

There have been many postings on this forum about this.  Just search and I am sure you will find alot.

Also check the UK Gov website.  They have alot of information.

Hi Denise, yes I agree it’s confusing. I would suggest you have a look in gov.org and also Spanish Citizens Advice. Both very helpful. Good luck.

Hi Denise

I was in the process of obtaining residency through my Lawyer in Spain but after Brexit she told me I now have to make the arrangements with the Spanish Consulate in the UK.

I am dealing with the Consulate in Manchester and they are very helpful and answer email questions very quickly.

They supply all the forms and tell you what else you need ie

Police Check

Proof of Income

Medical Certificate  etc.

I would get their details from their website and ask them.

I hope this helps.

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm

Thank you for your reply.  The consulate in London is closed and automatically thought the Manchester consulate was  to.  I will try and contact them.  Are you using a lawyer in the UK?   I have been quoted approx £1700.00 plus vat.  Is that the norm or is it easy to sort it out yourself.

Regards

Denise

Hello Denise.

Lovely to hear from you.

I am not using a lawyer. I think it's quite manageable without one. If in doubt ask the Consulate. They usually reply in a friendly manner within minutes of sending them a mail.

At the moment I am waiting for an appointment for a Medical Certificate which is a bit slow because of Covid.

If you keep in touch and you are one step behind. I should be able to help you through the process.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Hi Malcolm

Thank you for your reply.  It's all a bit confusing at the moment.  I am in the early stages. I looked at the consulate in Manchester and there was a link at the bottom of the page for Birmingham.  So have just emailed them - awaiting a reply.

Thank you again

Regards

Hi Malcolm

Thank you again.  I emailed the Birmingham office and the Manchester office.  I heard back from the Manchester office straight away and have printed off the forms.  I notice you have to have medical insurance with an insurance company who operates in Spain.  Can you recommend anybody?

Thank you

Denise
