Hi my names Claire im new here.My husband and I are free thinkers and very awake in Bedford in the uk.We strongly believe the msm are over dramatising restrictions in Spain to put British off holidaying there! I've heard conflicting accounts of how strict rules are in Spain? Ie masks curfews, bars shops being open and beaches? We think the UK want the British to stay in UK to boost British economy and scaremongering us.So please anybody and everyone give us youre own personal accounts of whats going on where you are.Looking forward to hearing from you all. Thanks Claire

Hi Claire, restrictions here vary slightly by region. Masks have to be worn everywhere outdoors and can only be removed whilst eating and/or drinking in a bar or restaurant. There are curfews and, in Andalusia it’s from 10pm until 6am. Bars, cafes and non essential shops have to close at 6.30 pm, but some are open for take aways until 9.30 pm. Some provinces where the rate of infection is higher are closed completely and no one allowed in our out. Mostly we can only travel within our own province. Hope this dispels the myth that U.K. government and press are lying.

Below a good link for the daily news in English Southern Spain, Virsus cases rising again, the lockdowns are very localised, curfew is at 11 pm. Masks are compulsory, the main Government hopes to have vaccine passports in place by June. So if had your jabs you might be able to travel then.    http://www.surinenglish.com/

Nope... you are correct Claire,

The UK government, the press, the social media networks are all suppressing the freedoms of the British people but not for the reasons you think....

Spain have different aspects to their restrictions which clearly focus on the knowledge that the politicians here are fully aware of as to what will be accepted until gradually the releasing increases later this year. The French, German and other EU nationals have been travelling to Spain to enjoy the 'different' restrictions, which basically means if you prefer the sunshine and warmth to cold and wet, having a meal during the day and a drink possibly near the beach, then the scenario is acceptable. Because of Brexit and our leaving the community, its important that the British for the time being are seen as excommunicado .. for obvious reasons.

If you travel you will be made aware that you are a potential biohazzard, so prepare to jump through hoops!

As the rules for entering Spain from the UK are currently very strict, you need to check carefully before travelling. Only residents of Spain and essential travelling etc are allowed in at the moment. But this could change of course so it's vital to check on official sites before you visit as it's such an uncertain time

Highly unlikely that is the case. Have you any idea how much the aviation industry bring into the country? Foreign visitors? there’s free thinking then there is  conspiracy theorists. Even the Spanish aren’t allowed to travel to other regions because they are all governed separately. EU citizens are entering a Spain but only because the regions don’t control the Spanish borders.

I am about to send  a part load of household items to Spain to equip my new apartment. Are UK electrical items usable with new plugs or an adaptor, or is the current different ? I have lamps, hairdryer, small kitchen mixer, toaster and kettle ready to send. What about DVDs and a DVD player - is it worth sending them ?

Can't wait to come out and start painting - it's very frustrating !

I would send everything. I brought vacuum cleaner, steam mop, etc and wished I brought more. An adaptor works fine. I ended up buying electric things here which are dearer and not as good. Best of luck with the move!
