Hi

That's a massive subject that can't possibly be answered in response to a one sentence question. Research, research, research is the short answer. It requires leg work. As a starting point look at the following

That should give you an insight, You can never be over prepared so don't stop reading and go in with open eyes. Importantly be realistic. Look at the negatives as well as the positives...

Good luck!

These would be my top recommendations:

I would HIGHLY recommend shelling out a few Euro and talking to a professional accountant.  Explain to them your financial situation and what income & property taxes and other possible costs and government requirements you will face.

If you do not speak Spanish and have never spoken another language than English you will most likely find learning Spanish during your retirement years extremely difficult.  I would not underestimate the uphill battle that could be.

Pay the extra money to get professional help organizing matters such as Health Insurance.

Think about the community that you want to be a part of depending on the things you like to do.  This could drive you closer to the beach or further away (ie. Coin).  If you do not wish to buy a car think about how you will get around.  Many small towns not far from the main centers to not have frequent transit.

I am sure there are plenty more but these come top of mind.  Good luck,  Kerri

Hi,  We moved close to Coín in the last few weeks and so far, apart from the extreme heat the last few days have found everything to be great.

Be aware that everything costs much more than you expect - the moving costs are a killer, then once you get here the cost of living is also a bit in the pricey side - on the upbeat the place is fantastic and the wine is cheap.

It’s great here you will love it xxx
