I looking to live in Spain for winter months. November to February. Off the tourist track but with some genuine Brits about.

Is Coin a great place? Lost going on?

I'd like a town house. 1/2 bed. With a view. Of surrounding countryside. Or maybe a flat overlooking a square. Something that needs a little work. To keep me active and fit. I could rent out in summer but I'd need  someone to organise that for me

I need a garage, or somewhere to park a car, as I'll be travelling by car from Kent.

Most of all good friends.Life is souless without good friends. I enjoy social drink and a chat. I always return favours.

Hi Jackinabox,

Coin is a busy town and quite Spanish.  Alhaurin El Grande is a few kilometres from Coin and an alternative to consider as it has quite a large expat community. Also Alora is a nice inland town and has the advantage of having a rail link into Malaga.  It's down to personal choice and getting a certain feel for a place really

Have a look at Grapevine Properties website www.grapevine-properties.com. They are English and specialise in inland properties of all sizes and prices and, from our experience when buying, are very helpful.

Good luck with your search

Jinty

We bought our car in the UK and drove it over. Spanish cars have usually had a very hard life. We live in Trabuco, a beautiful town of around 5,000 with all amenities and plenty of parking. There is a local ex-pat community which is very friendly and meets up often. Great town square with bars and restaurants and always something going on, even now. There are some nice houses for sale in the town and flats in the square. Just far enough away from the madding crowd, but close enough to visit. Takes about 30 minutes to Malaga/Torremolinos coast
