Hi
I’ve recently bought an apartment and went to pay IBI at Casares Town Office to be told I can’t pay until 1st July
We are now in the UK and not returning until October
Is there a way that I can pay online/remotely. I have looked on the Casares Council website but not much help

Hi Nigel.
Same problem here, I bought a house in Velez Malaga last Sept 2021, I have tried to pay online but everything is mainly in Spanish.
We are going to my home in September 2022, I am going straight to the town Hall in Velez Malaga and see if I can pay my IBI and Busara bill there, if not I will find out where to pay, Velez have offices for different departments in Velez.
I hope you can get yours sorted out when you go to Casares in October, good luck.

There is an English speaker at casares costa town hall ,Juan Carlos . Tel 0034952897262/3. Who can help you. Only 8am to 3pm Spanish time,

I'm in Mijas, La Cala, I pay my council charges IBI, Basura and Car Tax, via direct debit from my Spanish bank and receive a 5% discount.

Nigel, here's a link to the online payment site Malaga Tax
1st Field - Matricula - 8 digit reference number (doesn't change year on year)
2nd Field - your town
3rd Field NIE
My Matricula was on paper IBI/Garbage Tax demand - others may know how to obtain it remotely ( I do not)

I pay my IBI in Casares and pay by direct debit, it was set up by solicitor so can't offer any details but I know it can be done. Castles in Sabanillas look after my non-resident tax, maybe they can help with your IBI payment.

I contacted La Cala de Mijas council by email and they sent me this form to fill in and email back to them.
Once I set it up I get 5% off every year.
Maybe other councils do the same.
