Hi, we are a British U.K. couple looking to buy an apartment for winter stays and holidays.

Casares looks gorgeous and we’re coming out to look around in February.

Do you have any tips for areas to focus on and areas to avoid.. and any advice greatly appreciated , Sarah

We really like Casares and have a house there but haven’t stayed there extensively during winter though.

Hi Sez,

Casares town is a beautiful white mountain place and we always take visitors there and enjoy its ambience.

As for a place to holiday it depends on what you like doing and how warm you want it to be. You are 20 minutes drive to beach and major supermarkets. It tends to be a few degrees colder than Casares Costa.

I hope this helps.

Hi Trevor

thanks for your comment. I think we would prefer the slightly warmer temperatures so that’s a good thing to bear in mind

Interestingly in the summer that few degrees cooler is really welcome.

Hi SezD,

Yes and in winter we do get strong winds (blowing a hooley now 😄) and rain.

We live down by the coast in San Luis De Sabinillas and it might be better to live hear and go up for visits.

Hi I'm Denise

We come out every year beginning of Feb to end of April  ie 84 days.  90 days is max allowed now.  We stay in a beautiful apartment complex in Sabinhillas near to the pub called the NAUTILUS.  We are one scot and one english of a couple.  Sabinhillas and puerto duquessa are fabulous for the winter.  You get working town and ex pats resort all in one.  Most of Sabi beach side is flat and has a long promenade.  Always apartments for sale down here.  Look us up at Nautilus if interested.  You will here my accent and Gabriella is one of the friendly waitresses there.  A little spanish goes a long way though.
