Due to Covid my plans to property search and get residency earlier this year didn't happen.  Time is running out!

My daughter and partner are in the process of buying an apartment - would it be possible for me to stay or rent a room off them temporarily to prove be able to get a residence permit or would I have to to rent independently?   Could I sign soem sort of tenancy agreement say for one room with them and pay them rent?

John,

I would recommend you read all of Jim's Guides.  Residency is a bit more complicated than just a rental agreement.  At least this will get you a bit further along.  Here is the link:  Jim's guides - your complete guide to Spain

John you don’t have to have a contract you are allowed to stay with them if they have already bought the property that’s the first thing then you go to the town hall and register there that’s the first step for residency but immigration papers is a different thing you have to meet certain requirements, nhs money etc to stay as a resident.
